it could still be your half-shafts. they could have been installed inproperly. it could be the rack too. or it could be the bearings. but in a turning sense, i doubt that, because you would hear it all the time. my guess would be tie rods. so check them, if you can move them with your hand. they are diffenetly bad. if not tie rods. bushings.

Does it do it when you turn both ways or just one way? Maybe bearings called hub bearing! Could also be some suspension parts or steering "rack and pinion"! Go to a Midas or Firestone they will look at it and give you a free estimate. If you do the work there they have a national warranty and great customer service recourse if a problem arises.
