The new Chevrolet Equinox comes in 4 cylinder and V6 flavors and overall it's gotten very positive feedback from every automotive publication.
It is currently a finalist for the 2010 North American Truck of the Year (going up against the Ford Transit Connect and Subaru Outback). There were originally 10 nominees.

The Jeep Liberty have been pretty well reviewed and I believe they are available with a 6 cyl or a diesel now.
