Long time ago stock car racing was to tell the performance of a type of vehicle before they are put on the market. Today, I think it is a danger sport and the tracks are still the same size but car are more faster. This is a waste of fuel and create a lot of pollution.

Oh, so only stock car racing is a waste of fuel? Not say...F1, Indycar, Australian V8 Supercars, or any other racing series? I'll admit, stock car racing isn't what it used to be. They have completely lost their roots, yet cling to old technology because it is so deeply ingrained in the tradition. Doesn't make sense to you either? It shouldn't. NASCAR in particular has made amazing strides in safety, yet have refused until recently to use fuel injection. NASCAR, and other forms, should return to their actual roots of STOCK cars. SCCA has the right idea. Take a car and heavily modify it for racing purposes. Stock car racing today consists entirely of cars purpose built for racing, with nothing in common with road cars. The only thing the manufacturer will provide is the engine block. Pretty much everything else is made by the various teams.

Anyway, return to that, and stock car racing will have more relevance again. As it stands now, it is pure entertainment.
