Lamborghini is yellow? ferrari is red? Aston martin is silver? why?

Why does every new model of a Lamborghini comes in color yellow? ferrari comes in red? Aston martin in silver? has this just became a mutual understanding among these top car manufacturers over the years? just gotta know. Thanks for any insights!

The colors use to stand for the country of origin. See link below. It was a way to identify what country a car was made in when it was raced.





Sam H is wrong. Yellow is not the original color of the first Ferrari. Here is a pic of the actual first Ferrari and it is red.

Linkin Soldier is wrong when it comes to Porsche. They use white as their official factory racing color. However, silver was used in the 50's. If you do a search; it has always been white. Only those sponsored by others are a different color.

Since the 1920s, Italian race cars of Ferrari were (and often still are) painted in "race red" (Rosso Corsa). This was the customary national racing color of Italy, as recommended between the World Wars by the organizations that later would become the FIA. In that scheme, French cars like Bugatti were blue, German like BMW and Porsche white (since 1934 also Silver Arrows), British racing green etc.



Curiously, Ferrari won the 1964 World championship with John Surtees by competing the last two races in cars painted white and blue, as these were not entered by the Italian factory themselves, but the US-based NART team. This was done as a protest concerning arguments between Ferrari and the Italian Racing Authorities regarding the homologation of a new mid-engined Ferrari race car.

Rosso Corsa (Racing [Corsa] Red [Rosso], in English) has been Ferrari's signature colour for many decades. I'm personally not a fan of it. "Lamborghini's signature color is Yellow." Nope. If Lamborghini had a signature colour, it would be Arancio (orange), not yellow. "Porsche's signature color is Silver." Porsche doesn't have one. "Aston Martin is Green" British Racing Green, to be precise, and that applies to many British sports cars, not just Aston. "Lotus is Yellow and Green." For once, you are correct. "Mercedes Benz is black" Like Porsche, M-B doesn't have a signature colour. "Subaru is Blue" Not entirely true. STi models actually have Cherry Blossom Red as their signature colour. The WRX's signature colour is WR Blue Mica. The rest of the range doesn't have one.

They come in other colors. Aston Martin is green, not Silver. Porsche is Silver. They make most Ferrari's Red and most Lambos Yellow because thats the most popular color they look good in.

Well Mr. Enzo Ferrari's favorite colour was Red, Lamborghini does nothave a fixed Colour for Example the Lamborghini Murcielago and the Murcielago LP640 has always been Lime Green the Gallardo (Pronounced as Gayyardo) has always been Yellow and the Late Diablo has alwys been Red or Black Lamborghini never had a fixed colour the Countach aws always in Red or Black (the SV came in Orange only) the Miura was eithere Navy Blue or Black, And talking about Aston Martin well there main colour has always been British Racing Green but these days its Different, the V12 Vanquish comes in Metallic Silver (standard), the V12 S comes in Black (standard), the Aston Martin DB9 comes in British Racing Green (standard I know cos myFriend jus Bought one about a month ago in British racing Green), and the Baby Aston the AMV8V or V8 Vantage comes in Striking Yellow (standard).

and Porsche always comes in Silver because the First Porsche the Speedster was in Base Silver because Porsche had no Time get get it painted because they had to get the car into the Gemarn Auto Show in Berlin at that time and Porsche Continues the Tradition to this day I Know becuase I own 2 Porsche's Mind you none of them are silver, a 2005 Porsche cayenne Turbo S in Dark Blue and waiting for my 2008 Porsche (997) 911 GT2 in Gloss Black which'll arrive somewhere in the First Week of Jan 2008.

I am pretty sure the colors date back to early motor racing days when factory teams sent out there preferred colors. Timing and scoreing liked it too. But that is not all Mercedes Benz and Audi bring out silver prototypes too. Jaguar doesn't use all the time British Racing Green. Ford Blue? Chevorlet Orange. The Dodge Challenge was Orange at the North American auto show and the Chevy Camaro was Silver. Yes the Lambo Mura was Yellow and what would a Ferrari Just has to be red.

As said, Ferrari have traditionally included "racing red" for many decades in their paint charts, and that is what a lot of customers prefer. You CAN have yours in other colours if you wish. Saw a gorgeous and very valuable Daytona a couple of weeks ago in factory yellow, at first it didn't look at all right and then it grew on me. If only . . .

well ferrari is red because that was enzo ferrari's favourite colour even thought it wasent the original colour, yellow was. and a lamborghini is a very striking car therefore yellow suits it because it stands out. sorry dont no about aston martin

i think there is history to it (which i dont know lol) but car makers purposly do this as well, becuase for example if u go to a car exhibition or a car garage then most of the cars are red if its ferrari, yellow if its a lambo etc.

and btw i think the reason why aston martin are that grey/silver colour because of james bond! lol

well that is true because those cars look good in those color. i have owned a Lamborghini murcielago well i rented it for 3 days the cost was 5000$ per day in Canada Toronto.but those exhaustic cars come in different color.
