Why did ford drop the Focus Wagon when the SUV was going out of style in 2006? Why haven't they realized that some people don't want an SUV or Mini Van or Pick Up and a sedan just isn't going to do what they need. I do know that Volvo, and Subaru have wagons but none of the other listed Auto makers has one, Toyota, GM,Ford, Dodge, BMW, Audi, Nissan and etc. Wouldn't it make scene to bring them back in place of the dying SUV?

Maybe because the majority of people thought they were hideous. I never thought they were really a in demand kind of thing. At least Subaru had a WRX Wagon, that's pretty cool.

I wonder if Ford will make the new Taurus into a wagon like the old days...

The demand is on SUV and crossovers. You can haul the family across town and carry luggage in the back, so the station wagon is dead! Also, I haven't heard of a customer demand a station wagon since 1990.

You are not so updated.Audi's A4,A6,S4,S6,and RS4 can be had as station wagons( estates).BMW's 5series and 3series can also be had as estates.Ford's Flex is a combination of an SUV and a station wagon.Toyota also has such thing like the Corolla Verso but its not available in the U.S. And, Dodge also has a station wagon, the Magnum.

Nobody in the US buys them. You rarely saw Focus wagons or Dodge Magnums. Audi, VW, BMW, and Mercedes all make them but don't sell them in the US because there is no demand,

Toyota Matrix

Pontiac Vibe

Audi A4 and A6 Wagons.

BMW 5 series wagon

Mercedes E class Wagon

VW Jetta Wagon

Kia Spectra5

No one wants a stationwagon.

People are now looking for hatchbacks to replace SUV's.

Like VW Golf/Rabbit, pontiac G3, Toyota Yaris, Honda Fit, new Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback, Mazda 3 5 door.

Mercedes came out with a nice wagon and so did BMW. Actually Mercedes has two wagons.
